Colonoscopy/Gastroscopy (Endoscopy Center)

Colonoscopy/Gastroscopy Center (Endoscopy)

The Colonoscopy/Gastroscopy Center (Endoscopy) at North Ottawa Community Health System is specifically designed for patients who need colonoscopy and other common screenings for gastrointestinal disorders. Our modern center has two procedure rooms and private recovery areas equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The Center’s all RN staff, each certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, is dedicated to making the patient’s experience safe and comfortable. During an endoscopic procedure, a gastroenterologist uses an endoscope (a flexible tube with a lighted end) to obtain clear images of the lining of the gastrointestinal or digestive tract. Polyps are removed and biopsies obtained when needed. Endoscopic procedures are used to diagnose:

  • polyps
  • colon disease
  • acid reflux conditions
  • stomach ulceration
  • hiatal hernia
  • Crohn's disease
  • esophageal lesions
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • Barrett's esphagitis

The Endoscopy Center at North Ottawa offers an efficient and patient-friendly experience with private rooms and bathrooms in the recovery area and gentle staff. If you are looking for a specialist in these areas please use the find a doctor section on our website and search either gastroenterologist and/or colon/rectal to find a specialist in these areas. Call (616) 844-4620 for more information about our Colonscopy/Gastroscopy Center.
